"rehabilitation." Nothing good is real in
considering the convicted felon.. "Once a thief,
always a thief." Much of this thinking is based in the mass media bombardment treating all criminals as sinister and thoroughly evil; there are no socially redeemable values in any of th.e criminals. If you do take the time to "read between the lines" in these TV crime drama portrayals of the criminal personality, you will see that each of the attributes of character which would be seen as positive in an ordinary individual is merely a facadea disarming mechanism for the intended victims. The criminals smile can never be genuine. When the criminal is shown to live a "normal" life complete with lovely wife and beautiful children, he is portrayed as using both as a "cover" for his nefarious schemes. There is no genuine caring on his part, and the family suffers for his deceit in the end, as must all who allow themselves to be "taken in" by such a deviant person as the criminal is supposed to be. So when some person in our own communities fall before the criminal juggernaut in such fashion, we are psychologically prepared to accept their guilt until they are proven innocent. We have a backlog of information covering such situations from our TV depictions about whatever crime may occur. If the person goes through the criminal justice process and is released for whatever reason, we may rest assured that this person has "beat the rap." It has become so entrenched in our general public thinking that the accused who are released from charges they were innocent of will actually say that they "beat the rap." So why so much emphasis on "law and order" platforms when the powermongers seek tighter control? Why such generation of fear to intimidate the publicatlarge? There is nothing new about such tactics in the history of human politics. Most of the ploys used to lay foundation for such indoctrination is rooted in the everafter pursuit of something we like to call "Liberty." This is synonomous with the concept called "Freedom." Any yet history will dictate that we must only be free to do exactly as we are told to do by our law-makers and their enforcers. The trick to... |
