cowardly" people be impressed with how good a victim
I coul be when someone decided to abuse me for whatever
reasons. By keeping the shield of psychopathology around me, I mean that allowed the impression that my "changes" might not run very deep within my true character. Those embracing psychopathic values are usually very suspect of other persons who behaved psychopathically of ever really changing. It is usually considered merely someone who is trying to play like a "normal" person for some selfserving purpose not only by other "psychopaths" but also by professional, socially functional psychopaths such as politicians, corrections, law enforcement people and especially parole board members. This may seem like a harsh assessment, but it is pretty well on the mark when you examine the facts closely. Some of the old saws like, "Birds of a feather flock together; it takes a thief t catch a thief, etc." provide foundation for the thinking that som people assimilate" certain values and manners of expressing thei core thoughts and feelings. Like a "Narc" can be very much a tru "hippy" with all the trappings and behaviors of song, dance, and general conversation. But the Narc is the socially functional psychopath with no conscience, no depth, no honesty in his interpersonal relationships, etc. The parole board member is usually so caught up in his or her role as "Vigilante" for the criminally oppressed public that they become a second Judge and Jury for the convicted felon appearing before the board. Like the old saw, "The only good Indian is a dead Indian," there seems to be the notion that "The only good convicted felon is the lockedup felon." The parole board member may act with impunity for any arbitrary and capricious decision that is made through the authority vested in each member. The "safe" decision is the one to keep the parole eligible felon lockedup for as long as possible. Each board member is terrified that they will make "bad decision" and release some dangerous psychopath who has done... |
